Spring Schedule Set for Purdue Volleyball

The Boilermakers to host a pair of spring games at Holloway Gymnasium.

WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. – After making its 20th NCAA tournament appearance, including 13th under head coach Dave Shondell, the Purdue volleyball team looks to continue its growth with four matches during the 2019 spring season.

The Boilermakers open their spring slate on March 21, traveling to Indianapolis to face Big East member Butler at 7 p.m. ET.

Purdue then challenges the Illini in a home-and-away matchup, with the Boilermakers hosting Illinois at Holloway Gymnasium on March 30 at 1 p.m., before visiting Huff Hall for a 7 p.m. contest on April 10. The Illini finished the season ranked third in the final American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) Coaches Top-25 poll after advancing to the Final Four.

The Boilermakers round out their spring campaign on April 20, hosting Big Ten foe Wisconsin for a 2 p.m. contest. The Badgers wrapped up this past season with a No. 8 ranking in the final AVCA Top-25 poll after advancing to the Elite Eight. In the last match between the conference opponents, Purdue claimed the first two sets of a five-set match as the Boilermakers out-blocked and out-dug the Badgers, 15-10 and 68-64, respectively.

Purdue wrapped up the 2018 season with a 24-9 overall record, tied for fifth in the Big Ten with a 12-8 mark and advanced to their 13th second round appearance of the NCAA tournament in the last 13 years.
