WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. – The pendulum swung No. 18 Rutgers' way in three one-point matches to defeat No. 20 Purdue 22-15 at Holloway Gymnasium on Sunday. Four weights went to the Boilermakers with No. 12 Christian Brunner getting a pin on his birthday and No. 13 Griffin Parriott having his arm raised in a battle between ranked opponents.

Purdue (6-8, 2-5 B1G) and the Scarlet Knights (11-5, 4-3 B1G) exchanged decisions in a dual that started at 174 pounds. No. 11 Dylan Lydy (20-6) edged Joe Grello 4-3 to get the Boilermakers on the board and Nick Gravina answered for Rutgers by snapping Max Lyon's seven-match winning streak with a 3-2 setback. Both 184-pounders had an escape in the match and Lyon (19-8) received the riding time point, but he was twice called for technical violations, which turned out to be the difference in the match.

Late in the third period at 197 pounds, Brunner found his tilt and pinned Matthew Correnti at 6:19. The pin came on the heels of a takedown by the 12th-ranked Purdue junior that broke a 1-1 tie.

"I was just going for the tilt there," Brunner said. "He started to roll into me and I just pulled my hips over. We do it a lot in practice and it happened to be there today and I finished it off."

The pin is the fourth of the season for the two-time NCAA qualifier as he improves to 17-6.

Rutgers captured the next five weights with No. 4 Nick Suriano and top-ranked Anthony Ashnault contributing bonus points at 133 and 149 pounds, respectively. Both 285 and 141 were decided in the first set of tiebreakers 3-2 for the Scarlet Knights.

Parriott (157) and Cole Wysocki (165) closed out the dual with back-to-back wins for Purdue. A Parriott takedown in the first period held for the 13th-ranked redshirt sophomore in a 3-2 win over No. 14 John Van Brill. The win brought Parriott's record to 13-6.

Wysocki scored the most points in a match for Purdue in the dual, topping Jake Benner 8-1. Wysocki, a redshirt junior hailing from Edwardsville, Illinois, scored a pair of takedowns in the opening frame and had a reversal in the second. He added an escape in the third and finished with 1:21 of riding time.

The Boilermakers' home finale will be on Friday against Ohio State. Seniors Jacob Aven, Mario Leveille, Jon Morales and Ben Thornton will be honored prior to the 7 p.m. ET dual.
