LOOKING BACK
The Boilermakers snapped a three-game slide Thursday, dealing Illinois a 72-50 loss at Mackey Arena. Purdue held the Illini to 29 percent from the floor, including a five-point second quarter, and have now held six opponents to 50 points or fewer this season, and 12 team to 60 points points or fewer. Four Boilermakers scored in double figures in the win as Purdue hit on 48.1 percent from the floor, hit seven triples and made 15-of-18 at the free throw line.
VICTORIOUS VERSYP
Purdue head coach Sharon Versyp continues to climb record lists in her illustrious coaching career, most recently moving into a tie for fifth place in Big Ten history with 136 career conference wins. She matches former Ohio State head coach Jim Foster on the all-time list, and is the third-winningest active coach behind C. Vivian Stringer and Lisa Bluder. Versyp has 390 career wins in her 19 seasons as a Division I head coach, including a Boilermaker record 273 on the Purdue sidelines.
SIXTY REASONS
Purdue has held 12 opponents to 60 points or fewer this season, winning on every occasion, and holding five of those opponents to 50 points or fewer. Sunday's matchup will be another challenge to the Boilermaker defense as Nebraska has scored only 60 points or less three times in 23 games.
DOUBLE-DOUBLE RECORDS
Harris added another mark in the record books Thursday, grabbing her 10th double-double of the season to set a new Purdue junior class record. She passes assistant coach Lindsay Wisdom-Hylton and Stacey Lovelace on the single-season record list as her total is now tied for sixth-most in a campaign in program history. Harris' 19 career double-doubles are seventh in Purdue history, one shy of matching Carol Emanuel, Cathey Tyree and Joy Holmes for fourth all-time.
ALL ABOUT NEBRASKA
The Huskers enter Sunday's matchup at 10-13 overall and 5-7 in conference play, falling in their last two games and four of their last five. Nebraska's one recent win was significant as it was an 84-64 win in Mackey Arena, dealing Purdue its only home loss of the conference schedule and 1-of-2 this season overall. Their conference record is tied for 10th in the Big Ten standings with Minnesota, but leaves them only two games out of fourth place. Head coach Amy Williams is in her third season at Nebraska, one of three Big Ten head coaches to lead their alma mater alongside Versyp and Minnesota's Lindsay Whalen. The Cornhuskers rank among the conference leaders in 3-point shooting, hitting 7.3 per game on the year and 7.2 per game in Big Ten play. Nebraska has eight players averaging between 10.3 and 7.1 points, and has nine individuals averaging at least 16 minutes per game. Junior point guard Hannah Whitish is Nebraska's only player averaging double figures at 10.3 points per game, but had a career-high 28 points and 12 assists in the Huskers' win over Purdue. Sophomore Taylor Kissinger leads the conference and ranks 19th in the nation at 44.4 percent from behind the arc.
