WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. – One of the toughest tests for the Purdue track & field teams begins Friday with the Razorback Invitational in Fayetteville, Arkansas. The meet will feature 10 of the nation's top programs and will competing over two days.
Friday's action is slated to begin at 1:25 p.m. ET, while Saturday's action begins at 12:25 p.m. ET. Meanwhile, fans can watch live on SECN+ with the broadcast beginning at 7 p.m. ET on Friday and 2 p.m. ET on Saturday. The Razorback Invite is just one of just two indoor meets in the nation to be broadcast live this season.
Fifty percent of the women's programs in attendance are among the nation's top 10, including No. 1 Arkansas. On the men's side, four programs are in the top 10.
Among the Boilermakers scheduled to compete is All-American thrower Sarah Loesch, who enters the meet as the nation's 9th-best thrower and the top women's weight thrower entered.
Up-and-comer Amaya Chadwick will be running in the 60-meter hurdles and the 200-meter dash. As a freshman, Chadwick has already notched some of the top times in Purdue's 60-meter hurdles history, as she currently holds No. 8 in the program record books.
Running in the women's 400-meter dash is Samara Miller. Miller decorates the program record book in multiple categories, including No. 4 in the 400-meters, No. 1 in the 500-meters, No. 2 in the 600-meters as well as contributing to two of the top 4x400-meter relay times in Boilermaker history. Miller currently ranks as the 49th-fastest 400-meter runner in the nation and No. 1 in the 500-meter.
On the men's side, Jah Strange is coming off a triple jump victory at the Larry Wieczorek Invite. The transfer enters the meet with the nation's 10th-farthest mark and the best among meet competitors. Furthermore, Strange has already etched his name into the Purdue record books in his first meet as a Boilermaker, coming in at No. 5.
With the Invite featuring some of the fastest sprinters in the nation, Justin Becker, Malcom Dotson and Waseem Williams will face off against 28 other entries in the 60-meter dash, including three competitors among the top-10 in the nation.
Additionally, Boilermakers Tamar Greene and Shawndail McLaren will make their return. Greene is entered in the long jump and triple jump, while McLaren will run in the 400-meter dash and serve as a leg in the 4x400-meter relay, where he was named an honorable mention All-American in the relay last season. Greene currently holds the 11th-best triple jump mark in the nation, set in the first meet of the indoor season.
