WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. - One of the nation's greatest sports rivalries has a little extra at stake Sunday as Purdue hosts No. 25 Indiana for a 2 p.m. ET tip at Mackey Arena. The Boilermakers and Hoosiers head into the game tied for second place in the Big Ten standings at 4-2 in conference play, both aiming to keep pace with the conference leaders and remain in the hunt for a Big Ten title.

LOOKING BACK
Purdue rallied from 14 points down in the fourth quarter to force overtime at No. 20 Rutgers, but came up short in the extra period, falling 65-63. The Boilermakers outrebounded the Scarlet Knights 40-26, and outscored them on second-chance points 15-6, but gave up 18 points off turnovers and Rutgers cashed in 18-of-22 at the free throw line to hold on for the win.

The Boilermakers will celebrate their history Sunday, welcoming home program alumnae to Mackey Arena. Purdue will celebrate the 20-year anniversary of its 1999 NCAA Championship in addition to honoring 1995 First Team All-American Stacey Lovelace with a bobblehead figurine. The first 1,500 fans in attendance Sunday are eligible to receive one.

Sunday's game will feature two of the last four Indiana Miss Basketball honorees in Indiana's Ali Patberg and Purdue's Karissa McLaughlin. Patberg earned the state's top honors in 2015, originally attending Notre Dame before a transfer to Indiana, and won a state title at Columbus North High School. McLaughlin became Purdue's ninth Indiana Miss Basketball in 2017, leading Homestead High School (Fort Wayne) to the state championship.
REJECTING APPLICATIONS
Harris continues to lead the nation in blocked shots, already rejecting 64 through 19 games, and her 3.37 per game average is fourth-best in the nation. Her junior season total is already seventh on Purdue's single-season record list, where she currently owns the No. 2 and No. 4 spots, and her 244 career blocks rank her 13th in Big Ten Conference history.

The Hoosiers enter Sunday at 15-3 overall and 4-2 in conference play, sitting in a four-way tie for second with Purdue, Maryland and Iowa. Sunday marks the first time in series history that Indiana enters a game ranked in the AP Poll, coming in at No. 25. The Hoosiers are Purdue's second straight ranked opponent, third in their last four games and fifth of the season. Fifth-year head coach Teri Moren is a Purdue alumna, playing four seasons for the Boilermakers and graduating in 1992. Moren and Versyp shared one season in the Purdue locker room (1987-88), when Versyp was a senior and Moren was a freshman. Moren played on Purdue's first-ever Big Ten Championship team as the Boilermakers went 17-1 in conference in 1990-91, and remains 20th in program history with 275 career assists. Junior Ali Patberg is in her first season with the Hoosiers after transferring from Notre Dame and ranks fourth in the conference at 17.6 points per game and fourth in assists at 5.1 per game.
