Blough, Wright Set for East-West Shrine Game

Quarterback David Blough and wide receiver Terry Wright will represent Purdue football in the 94th East-West Shrine Game on Saturday.

WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. – Quarterback David Blough and wide receiver Terry Wright will represent Purdue football in the 94th East-West Shrine Game on Saturday.

The all-star game is being played at Tropicana Field in St. Petersburg, Florida. Kickoff is set for 3 p.m. ET, and the game will be televised by the NFL Network.

Blough and Wright are members of the East team, which is being coached by Carolina Panthers assistant defensive line coach Sam Mills.

The Shrine Game is the longest running college all-star game, dating to 1925. It offers draft hopefuls the opportunity to be coached by NFL coaches and meet with NFL scouts and front office personnel face to face for the first time.

The Boilermaker duo are the first Purdue players to participate in the all-star game since wide receiver DeAngelo Yancey in 2017. Yancey subsequently was selected by the Green Bay Packers in the fifth round of the 2017 NFL Draft.

Blough wrapped up his finest season at Purdue in 2018 by completing 305 of 462 passing attempts for 3,705 yards and 25 touchdowns. Blough's completion percentage of .660 in 2018 was the highest for any quarterback in a season in Purdue history, while his passing yardage and touchdown totals were fifth, and completion tally sixth.

Against Missouri on Sept. 15, Blough set the Purdue game record for passing yards record (572) and the Big Ten game total offense mark (590).

A four-year letterwinner for the Boilermakers, Blough finished his career third all-time in school history in passing attempts (1,429), completions (871), passing touchdowns (69) and total offense (9,996). He tied with Joey Elliot for third in career completion percentage (.610), and is fourth with 9.734 career passing yards.

Blough was named a finalist for the 2018 Wuerffel Trophy, a third-team All-Big Ten selection by the conference's media voters and garnered Purdue's Big Ten Sportsmanship Award for a second consecutive season.

Wright, a two-year letterwinner for the Boilermakers after transferring from Coffeyville Community College, finished fourth for Purdue with 28 receptions for 468 yards and five touchdowns in 2018. His 16.7 yards per reception average in 2018 was second to Brycen Hopkins' 17.1 for the Boilermakers last season.

Wright was named the Big Ten Offensive Player of the Week after hauling in six passes for 146 yards and three touchdowns against Iowa on Nov. 3.

In his two seasons at Purdue, Wright finished with 57 receptions for 742 yards and five touchdowns.
