Week 7 Recap
  • Last week, the Boilermakers took down in-state rival Indiana in front of a season-high 1,326 fans at Folk Field.
  • Sarah Clark scored the golden goal for Purdue on a penalty kick in the 105th minute. Clark's goal was the third of her career, all of which have come on penalty kicks during 2018.
  • With the win, Katie Luce registered her third shutout of 2018 and the eighth of her career. Additionally, Luce ranks second in the B1G with a 0.70 goals against average mark and comes in at third with a .838 save percentage.
Overtime for the Books
  • The Boilermakers average 98.08 minutes per game after three double overtime battles, which is the tenth most in Division I and is the most among Power Five institutions.
  • Purdue's three double overtime games are the most by any Purdue team in a single season. Additionally, its three extra-minute games heading into the October 5 competition are the second-most in program history (most: four in 2012).
  • Purdue is just one game shy of tying the program record for overtime battles in a single-season.
H. Mussallem Recognized by B1G
  • Hannah Mussallem recorded the first Big Ten weekly award of her career after being named B1G Defensive Player of the Week on Oct. 2 for her performance against Indiana.
  • Mussallem saw action for the full 105 minutes of play and was the only upper-classman to start the game. The defender played an integral role in handing IU its first shutout of the season and a below-average shot total when the Hoosiers entered the game with 2.36 goals and 15.6 shots per game.
  • Not stopping on defense, the senior captain notched four shots, including one on goal.
Scouting Minnesota (7-5-1, 3-2-1 B1G)
  • Minnesota sits at fourth-place in the Big Ten standings with its .583 conference winning percentage.
  • Through its six league games, the team has scored seven goals while allowing just four.
  • Like Purdue, the Golden Gophers are well-versed in overtime matches this season, having competed in five extra-minute games.
  • Eleven student-athletes have found the back of the net in 2018, led by April Bockin who has scored four goals and four assists. Half of Bockin's goals proved to be game-winners for Minnesota while also ranking third in the B1G after taking 29 shots to average 3.00 per game.
  • The team has produced six shutouts, backed by Maddie Nielsen in the net. She has accumulated 39 saves for a .780 save percentage and a 0.82 goals against average.
Scouting Wisconsin (8-2-3, 2-1-3 B1G)
  • The Badgers are coming off two consecutive double overtime draws versus Rutgers and Maryland. Before traveling to West Lafayette, the Badgers will meet against Indiana on Friday.
  • On the road, Wisconsin owns a 5-1-0 record in 2018 and has yet to be shutout.
  • Badgers goalkeeper Jordyn Bloomer ties for third in the Big Ten with five shutouts this season.
