WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. – Purdue soccer's Dannah Williams was announced by the conference office as the program's 2018 Big Ten Sportsmanship Award honoree.
The senior captain appeared in eight games this season at defense and midfield, including four starts. Williams served as a leader on and off the field for a team consisting of 24 underclassmen in addition to playing an integral role in the Boilermaker Student-Athlete Advisory Committee.
On the field, Williams closed out her career with 2,748 minutes on the pitch over 45 games. Williams recorded the game-winning goal as a sophomore in the 2016 victory against Maryland for her first collegiate goal, marking the first time Purdue won a 1-0 game on a player's first collegiate goal in five years.
Williams, a two-time Academic All-Big Ten honoree graduated with a bachelor's of science in management last May, earning her degree in just three years.
Williams was preceded by Vanessa Korolas, who earned the league honor in 2017.
