The first matchup between Missouri and Purdue in West Lafayette since 1956 totaled a combined 1,221 yards of offense.
It was Purdue's first game since with 600 or more yards on offense since 2011 vs. Southeast Missouri State.
Purdue falls to 0-3, losing on a game-ending field goal for the second consecutive Saturday. It is the deepest start to a season without a victory since 1996 when the Boilermakers finished the year 3-8.
Purdue's three losses have come by a combined eight points.
Attendance was 48,103.
OFFENSE
Senior QB David Blough finished 39-of-55 for a school-record 572 yards. His 572 passing yards were the second-most ever by a Big Ten quarterback behind 621 thrown by Illinois' Dave Wilson in a loss to Ohio State on Nov. 8, 1980.
Blough's 39 completions tied for third most in a single game at Purdue and 10th most in Big Ten history.
Blough threw three touchdown passes, passing Scott Campbell (45, 1980-83) for fifth on Purdue's career list. Blough finished the game with 47 career TD passes and trails fourth-place Kyle Orton (2001-04) by 16.
Blough also rushed for one touchdown, upping his career total to 11 on the ground.
It was the fifth time in Purdue history that three Boilermaker receivers totaled 100 or more yards and the first time since 2007.
Rondale Moore (11-137), Brycen Hopkins (5-136) and Isaac Zico (4-100) each set career highs for receptions and receiving yards.
DEFENSE
Missouri had not allowed a sack this season until Derrick Barnes forced Drew Lock into an intentional grounding penalty at the start of the fourth quarter.
Barnes set career highs with 13 total tackles, nine solo tackles and counted his first career sack.
Antonio Blackmon's eight tackles (all unassisted) was a career best.
