WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. – Purdue softball head coach Boo De Oliveira announced the addition of Adrienne Clark to her coaching staff Friday. Clark, who most recently served as an assistant coach at the University of Connecticut, will lead the Boilermaker defense and assist with hitting.
"I am very excited to welcome Adrienne Clark to the Purdue University athletics department and to our Boilermaker softball family," De Oliveira said. "Adrienne is a true utility coach and is a person of strong character. She has experience coaching defense, offense and pitching. She brings a plethora of high-caliber experience both on the field and in a leadership capacity. I look forward to seeing her develop our defenders and assist with hitting."

An assistant for the Huskies for the past four seasons, Clark helped UConn to over 70 wins, including 20 victories in the 2018 season. The UConn pitching staff also combined for a 3.09 ERA and 292 total strikeouts this past season, the best marks since 2010 and 2009, respectively.
Clark also guided UConn pitcher Jill Stockley to an American Athletic Conference tournament-record as the junior pitched 11.2 innings in the circle and threw a career-high 177 pitches against USF in the quarterfinals of the conference's 2018 tournament.
Prior to her time at UConn, Clark served as an assistant coach for three seasons at her alma mater Hofstra. During her second stint with the Pride, Clark was instrumental in leading Hofstra to a 42-15 overall record and the program's first-ever NCAA Regional championship in 2012.
Clark also spent three seasons (2009-11) on the staff at Columbia University. While with the Lions, she oversaw the pitching staff and outfielders and also served as an associate professor of physical education at Columbia. Before her time at Columbia Clark began her coaching career at Delaware, where she served as an assistant coach for three years.
During a standout collegiate career for the Pride, Clark helped lead the team to four straight CAA regular-season and postseason championships and three NCAA Regional appearances. She helped the team win 148 games during those seasons, including a school-record 43 victories in 2005. Hofstra went 8-4 in the NCAA Tournament over her final three seasons and was one of only 12 teams in the nation to win at least two NCAA Tournament games in 2003, 2004, and 2005.
"Adrienne is a well-respected coach not only because of her decorated playing career and her high game IQ, but because she is a person of integrity, is extremely loyal, and is a connector," De Oliveira said. "She will be a great fit in our program in our efforts to continue to build a championship culture."
Clark, a native of Gibsonton, Florida, holds a bachelor's degree in business administration and marketing from Hofstra and a master's degree in sports management from Columbia.
