Complete 2018-19 Schedules: Men / Women
WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. - Eight home meets, headlined by a pair of big meets on consecutive weekends in November, highlight Purdue swimming & diving's 2017-18 schedules.
The Boilermakers are hosting the inaugural ACC/Big Ten Challenge the weekend of Nov. 10 to 11. It will be a two-day all-star meet featuring numerous All-Americans from both power conferences. The Big Ten Network is working to provide live television coverage of one of the two days, with the other session streamed live on BTN2Go.
The Zone C Diving Championships (March 14-16) return to the Morgan J. Burke Aquatic Center for the sixth time since the facility opened in 2001. Zone C annually serves as the diving qualifier to the NCAA Championships for the middle third of the Big Ten footprint and other schools in the Ohio Valley region. Purdue last hosted Zones in 2016. The Boilermakers have qualified all of their divers for NCAAs each of the last two seasons.
The University of Texas is hosting both the men's and women's NCAA Championships this season. The Longhorns last hosted the national championship meets in 2011 (women) and 2014 (men). The Boilermakers had multiple All-Americans both years.
The first Friday of November, Purdue will host a matinee triple dual. The co-ed field will feature Tennessee and Wisconsin. The Volunteers' roster is headlined by Zionsville, Indiana, native Kyle DeCoursey. The 11-time All-American is the brother of current Boilermaker Gretta DeCoursey and son of Purdue swimming alumna Ginger (Faerber) DeCoursey.
The Boilermakers have not competed against Wisconsin for dual meet action since the Morgan J. Burke Aquatic Center hosted the 2014 Big Ten Triple Duals. Northwestern replaced the Badgers in the annual two-day meet the following season. But UW is now under the leadership of first-year head coach Yuri Suguiyama.
Meanwhile, it is Northwestern's turn to host the Big Ten Triple Duals again. Purdue and Minnesota will race against the Wildcats in Evanston the first weekend of February.
The Boilermakers will use their fall invitational road trips as previews of aquatic centers they will visit again during the championship portion of the season. Indiana (women) and Iowa (men) are up next in the rotation to host the Big Ten Championships. Purdue's swimmers will visit Bloomington and Iowa City the weekend of Nov. 15-17. Meanwhile, the divers will fly south to Austin for an invitational at Texas that begins Nov. 14.
Indiana is the opponent for the Boilermakers' annual senior day meet at the Morgan J. Burke Aquatic Center. The rivalry dual is set for the final Saturday of January.
