The Purdue women's golf trio of Micaela Farah, Lauren Guiao and Inez Wanamarta were named All-American Scholars by the Women's Golf Coaches Association on Tuesday.

WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. - The Purdue women's golf trio of Micaela Farah, Lauren Guiao and Inez Wanamarta were named All-American Scholars by the Women's Golf Coaches Association on Tuesday, marking the sixth straight season the Boilermakers have earned a spot on the prestigious, annual list. The criteria for selection to the All-American Scholar Team are some of the most stringent in all of college athletics, requiring a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.50.
 
The Boilermakers have held court on the WGCA All-American Scholar list over the last 17 seasons, earning spots in 15 years, and placing multiple players on the honor roll eight times.
 
Tuesday's award adds to a fantastic list for Wanamarta, which includes Big Ten Freshman of the Year and First Team All-Big Ten honors. She set Boilermaker freshman records for stroke average (73.21) and rounds of par or better (12), and was Purdue's top finisher in a team-best five tournaments. Wanamarta also tied Purdue's 54-hole tournament record in her rookie season, posting a 10-under 206 at the Minnesota Invitational to tie for medalist honors.
 
A sophomore from Lima, Peru, Farah is an industrial management major and earned her first Academic All-Big Ten honor this season as well. She earned Second Team All-Big Ten recognition this season after averaging 73.97 strokes over 33 rounds and had eight rounds of par or better. Her top finish of the season was a second-place finish at The Dickson, where she shot a three-under 69.
 
Guiao appeared in eight events in her rookie season, including the Big Ten Championships. The freshman from Evansville, Indiana posted a fourth-place effort at the Dayton Fall Invitational and played her best 54-hole tournament at the 3M Augusta Invitational, shooting 11-over par, 227.
