Bailey, Blough and Sindelar to Represent Purdue at B1G Media Day

Senior David Blough and juniors Markus Bailey and Elijah Sindelar will represent Purdue at the annual Big Ten Media Days and Kickoff Luncheon July 23-24 in Chicago.

WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. – Senior David Blough and juniors Markus Bailey and Elijah Sindelar will represent Purdue at the annual Big Ten Media Days and Kickoff Luncheon July 23-24 in Chicago. It will be Blough's second appearance at the event and the first for Bailey and Sindelar.
 
Bailey, who was named to the Bednarik Award watch list earlier Monday, is the Boilermakers' leading returning tackler from 2017. Starting all 13 games last season, he racked up 89 total stops, including 11 tackles for loss with seven sacks. Bailey broke up a pair of passes, had an interception, and recovered and forced a fumble last year. A two-year starter for the Boilermakers, Bailey has racked up 198 career tackles with 17 tackles for loss and five interceptions.
 
Blough, who was the featured speaker at last year's Big Ten Kickoff Luncheon, is coming off a 2017 season that saw him appear in nine games with five starts. He completed 102 of 157 passing attempts for 1,103 yards and nine touchdowns. He missed the final four games of the season after injuring his ankle against Illinois, but rehabbed and recovered in time to fully participate in spring practices. Blough heads into his final season at Purdue sixth in school history in attempts (967), seventh in completions (566), ninth in completion percentage (58.5), seventh in passing yards (6,029) and sixth in passing touchdowns (44).
 
Sindelar, the 2017 Foster Farms Bowl MVP, played the final three and half games of the 2017 season with a torn ACL. He appeared in 12 games for the Boilermakers, making eight starts. Sindelar completed 187 of 329 passes for 2,099 yards and 18 touchdowns. In the bowl game against Arizona, he threw 396 yards and four touchdowns, including the game-winner to Anthony Mahoungou with merely 1:44 remaining in the fourth quarter.
