WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. - Purdue (10-28, 3-6 B1G) welcomes Indiana State (17-17, 5-6 MVC) to Bittinger Stadium on Wednesday for a doubleheader marking its first home midweek contests of the year. The Boilermakers are coming off a big weekend at home in which they took two-of-three against Northwestern.

In its third Big Ten series of the weekend, Purdue's bats caught fire as the Boilermakers scored 28 runs to take two games from a Northwestern team that was receiving votes in the week's NFCA Top 25 Coaches Poll. Jenny Behan and Ryleigh Scott each hit over .600 on the weekend with the two first-year Boilermakers accounting for 11 of Purdue's 26 hits against the Wildcats and 10 of the 28 runs. Behan was an RBI machine, driving in eight Boilermakers on six hits including two doubles and two home runs.

Purdue has been hot at the plate in the first six home games of the season as the Boilermakers are hitting .331 as a team with four student-athletes hitting north of .400 at Bittinger Stadium. Stephanie Ramsey leads the crew within hits and a .450 batting average. Two, three, four hitters Scott, Alexa Binckes and Behan are hitting .444, .429 and .421 respectively. Ramsey and Behan have provided the timely hitting with 21 of the 38 RBI Purdue has registered at home this season.

The non-conference test comes before a three-game series in Lincoln, Nebraska, against the Cornhuskers beginning Friday.
