Florida Relays Schedule

WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. -
The track & field teams are set for their first split weekend of the outdoor season. Thirty-seven Boilermakers are headed to the three-day Florida Relays in Gainesville, Florida, which begins Thursday. Two others will compete at the two-day Stanford Invitational in Palo Alto, California, which begins Friday. The Florida Relays can be watched live Friday and Saturday on SEC Network+, while the Stanford Invitational can be watched on FloTrack.

The Florida Relays has 100 teams in the field. The 13th-ranked Boilermakers are the third-highest ranked team on the women's side trailing only No. 8 Florida and No. 12 Kentucky. Other top-25 teams include No. 16 Nebraska, No. 19 Florida State, No. 20 Virginia Tech and No. 24 Tennessee on the women's side. On the men's side, seven ranked teams will compete including No. 4 Florida, No. 9 Nebraska and No. 16 Penn State.

Both meets are the first major test of the outdoor season for Purdue. At Florida, sophomore Waseem Williams is currently fourth in the country in the 100-meter dash. He'll be up against a field full of SEC sprinters, including numerous All-Americans from the indoor season. Senior Eric Blackman and freshman Rahman Minor, who are both tied for sixth in the country in the high jump, will compete against a loaded field, including Florida's Jhonny Victor, who is also tied for sixth.

Purdue's senior-led women's squad will be among the top teams in several events. Symone Black leads the nation in the 400-meter hurdles, while junior Janae' Moffitt is second in the country in the high jump. Senior Savannah Carson ranks fourth in the country in the long jump. She'll be up against a loaded field that includes Florida's Darrielle McQueen who is No. 2 nationally.

At Stanford, distance coach John Oliver travels with his top man and woman as sophomores Jaret Carpenter and Emma Benner make the trip. Oliver was the assistant distance coach at Stanford before making the move to Purdue last summer.
