Northern Amateur Final Results
CHESTERTON, Ind. - Timmy Hildebrand concluded a sensational week Friday, winning the prestigious Northern Amateur by four shots at Sand Creek Country Club.
The victory ends a week in which he won a pair of events at the course after earning medalist honors at the US Amateur Qualifier on Monday with a 6-under par 138, followed by Friday's win in the Northern Amateur.
Hildebrand joins a list of past winners that includes Trey Mullinax, Bo Van Pelt and Joe Ogilvie.
The rising junior from Westfield, Indiana, recorded a 54-hole total of 11-under par 205 (70-69-66) to tie the tournament's 54-hole scoring record (205), while setting a new 54-hole tournament record in scoring related to par (11-under par).
Hildebrand started the day in second place, but quickly moved to the top of the leaderboard with a 33 on the front nine. He then secured the title with an eagle on the par-5 15th hole, followed by a birdie on the par-4 17th hole to pull away from Ethan Farnam of Crystal Lake, Illinois (7-under par).
Hildebrand is currently ranked 162nd in the World Amateur Golf Rankings (WAGR).
