Day Three Results / Tournament Brackets / Live Results

ATHENS, Ga. - Junior Marta Martin put forth her second straight dominant performance Sunday to lead the Purdue women's golf team to a win over No. 11 South Carolina and to the Black Bracket title at the 45th-annual Liz Murphey Collegiate Classic, hosted by Georgia at UGA Golf Course. The Boilermakers and Gamecocks tied 2.5-2.5, but Martin's 7&5 victory over Ainhoa Olarra secured the tiebreaking criteria for Purdue, which sweeps the Black Bracket at the Liz Murphey for the second time in the last three seasons.

Martin finished 3-0 over the weekend, never needing the full 18 holes to secure a victory. She won her opener 4&2 against Troy, followed with a 6&4 win against Old Dominion and closed out by shooting two-under over 13 holes in her final win against South Carolina. Her outstanding match play was a tremendous response after shooting 13-over, 85, in stroke play Friday, where she was unable to register a team score for the Boilermakers.

Freshman Micaela Farah came up with the other Boilermaker win Sunday, notching a 4&3 victory over Ana Pelaez. The win was the Purdue rookie's first of the weekend, and second of the season as she did the bulk of her work on the back-nine, including a birdie on No. 16.

Senior August Kim couldn't come up with a third win Sunday, but managed to extend her unbeaten streak to nine straight matches as she finished all-square with Jia Xin Yang. The two went back-and-forth through the round, with neither player leading by more than one hole, and traded wins on two of the last three holes to halve the match.

South Carolina's points came by way of a 6&4 win by Katelyn Dambaugh over Linn Andersson and a 2&1 win for Marion Veysseyre over Covadonga SanJuan.

The Boilermakers are 4-2 on the season in match play, and return to action April 21 at the Big Ten Championships, hosted by the conference at TPC Rivers' Bend in Maineville, Ohio.
