WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. - The Purdue women's golf advanced to the NCAA Regional Championship, announced live on The Golf Channel 'Morning Drive' Thursday, and will be the No. 7 seed at the Columbus Regional, hosted by Ohio State at the Scarlet Course at the Ohio State University Golf Club. Play begins Monday, May 8, and will be a three-day, 54-hole format with a trip to the NCAA Championships on the line.

The Boilermakers advance to NCAA Regional play as a team for the 20th time in the last 21 seasons, advancing to the NCAA Championships on 16 occasions. Purdue senior August Kim advanced to nationals as an individual in 2016, placing ninth at the Shoal Creek Regional in Birmingham, Alabama. The top-six teams at each regional site advance to the NCAA Championships, set for May 19 to 24 at Rich Harvest Farms in Sugar Grove, Illinois. In addition, the top three individual finishers (not on an advancing team) earn trips to the national championships.

The Columbus Regional is headlined by top-seeded and fourth-ranked Florida, followed by No. 5 Florida State, No. 12 South Carolina, No. 13 Arkansas, No. 20 Colorado and No. 21 Texas A&M. Other teams of note include Big Ten rivals Ohio State, Michigan and Wisconsin.

The Old Gold & Black last played the Scarlet Course at the Ohio State University Golf Club in 2014, placing fourth at the Lady Buckeye Invitational. No member of the current Boilermaker roster played in the tournament, where the winning team score came in at 28-over par, 892.

Purdue is ranked 26th in the latest poll on GolfStat.com and boasts an 80-38-1 (.676) stroke play record in 2016-17. Kim is the No. 20 ranked individual in the GolfStat poll, the highest individual ranking for a Big Ten competitor, and the fifth-highest ranked player headed to Columbus.
