WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. - The Boilermakers won 23 events Saturday in cool, windy conditions at the Rankin/Poehlein Invitational. The meet was scored as a dual against Indiana and Purdue's men won 83-62, while the Boilermaker women were victorious by a score of 91-58.
Micaela Hazlewood had a personal record for the second day in a row. The junior moved up the school's shot put top-10 list with a toss of 15.09 meters (49-6.25). That moves her from eighth to sixth on Purdue's all-time list. Hazlewood also won the discus with a throw of 53.88m (176-9).
Gerald McGee was another Boilermaker with an impressive individual performance. McGee won the long jump with a leap of 7.77 meters (25-6), but had a massive tailwind of +4.3 meters per second, meaning the mark won't count towards records or regional qualifying.
Chloe Abbott won two events Saturday. She first took the 400m dash with a time of 53.39 seconds, which is just 0.13 of a second off her Purdue best, which ranks third in school history. Abbott also won the 200m dash with a windy (+3.2) time of 23.83 seconds. The Purdue women took the top four spots in both of those events. In the 400m dash, it was Symone Black who was runner-up with a time of 53.63 seconds. Samara Miller was fourth with a time of 54.24 seconds. That time was more than half a second better than her previous Purdue best. Jahneya Mitchell finished third in both events with times of 24.52 seconds and 54.01 seconds. In the 200m dash, it was Sekayi Bracey who was runner-up with a windy time of 23.88, while Myia Dorsey was fourth in 24.60 seconds.
The Purdue women swept the top three spots in the 100m dash. Savannah Carson took the top spot with a legal (+1.6) time of 11.51 seconds. Savannah Roberson was runner-up in 11.70 seconds, while Bracey was third in 11.74 seconds. Bracey was within 0.05 of a second of her PR.
Roberson was also in the 100m hurdles and came away with a victory. She finished with a wind-legal (+1.3) time of 13.57 seconds. Shantyra Delaney, competing in her final home meet, was runner-up with a time of 13.62 seconds. Symone Black was the 400m hurdles winner. She ran away with the event, crossing the finish line with a time of 58.62 seconds, more than 4.5 seconds better than anyone else in the race.
Kiara McIntosh took the women's 800m title with a time of 2:09.37. She was also part of the women's winning 4x400m relay team. Janae' Moffitt was a winner in the high jump, while Alisha Bahler was the top collegiate finisher in the women's javelin.
On the men's side, Kyle Webb was a three event winner on the day. He took the 100m dash with a wind-legal (+1.6) time of 10.58 seconds, while he won the 200m dash with a slightly windy (+2.1) time of 20.92 seconds. Josh Ebikwo was runner-up in the 100m dash after crossing the line in 10.78 seconds.
In the men's 400m dash, the Boilermakers took the top two spots. Kinard Rolle was the winner after posting a time of 47.99 seconds. Shawndail McLaren was runner-up in 48.49 seconds. The two were also part of the men's 4x400m team with Webb and Obokhare Ikpefan. That group won with a time of 3:14.49.
Ikpefan also won the 400m hurdles. He finished with a time of 51.40 seconds to hold off Indiana's Zach Reitzug by 0.51 of a second. Justin Veteto moved up the national list in the 110m hurdles after his win. The junior ran a windy (+3.4) time of 14.06 seconds. That is tied for 33rd in the country this year. Veteto was fourth in the 400m hurdles.
Caleb Fricke won the discus in his final home event. He threw 53.65m (176-00) on his opening attempt. Brad Hoselton took the javelin after recording a distance of 59.42m (194-11). Eric Blackman was a winner in the high jump, while Matthew Garrison took the triple jump. The men's 4x100m relay team was also victorious on the day.

The Boilermakers have just one more meet prior to the Big Ten Championships. The team will travel to the prestigious Drake Relays next week to compete in the three-day meet. The Big Ten Championships will follow two weeks later in State College, Pennsylvania.
