MTEN Notes

WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. - The Purdue men's tennis team announced Thursday that it has added four more matches to its spring schedule, producing doubleheaders on one open date and two existing competition dates. The first of the three takes place Friday against Niagara at the XS Tennis and Education Foundation in Chicago beginning at 3:30 p.m. ET. The second match of that doubleheader will begin shortly after the conclusion of the first.

The neutral-site matches mark the first-ever meeting between the two programs. The Boilermakers are coming off an emotional week, having defeated No. 23 Illinois 4-3 in Purdue's Big Ten home opener on March 1, while losing by the same tally at No. 37 Indiana on Sunday. On the other side of the net, the Purple Eagles are in the midst of a drought, dropping their last four after starting the season 2-1.

As for the remaining two doubleheaders, Purdue has selected April 2 and April 16 to play matches following its regularly scheduled competitions with Michigan and Nebraska, respectively - all four at the Schwartz Tennis Center. The specific two teams and match times will be announced at a later date.

The Boilermakers began the season with a home tripleheader and have since competed in two more multiple-match events; Purdue is 8-0 in those contests.
