The Lady Puerto Rico Classic will be played in Rio Grande, Puerto Rico for the ninth straight year, moving there from San Juan in 2009, and will be hosted by the Rio Mar Country Club's River Course for the seventh straight year, after moving from the Trump International Championship Course in 2011. PGA legend Greg Norman designed the Rio Mar Country Club River Course along the Mameyes. Married with the lay of the land, the island itself dictates the holes. The result is a course for all skill levels, full of native foliage, generous fairways and shallow bunkers.

Purdue struggled against the field last season, taking 14th in the 16-team field, including a 26th-place individual effort from Cova SanJuan. Arkansas set a single-round tournament record with a team score of seven-under, 281, on the second day, while Georgia captured the team crown at three-over, 867. Arkansas' Maria Fassi earned medalist honors at eight-under, 208, matching the lowest 54-hole score in tournament history.
