WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. - Purdue women's basketball will host its preseason fan event Sunday in Cardinal Court and Mackey Arena, welcoming Boilermaker faithful for games, autographs, photos with the team and more. The event begins with exclusive access for season ticket holders at 11 a.m., followed with an open event at 12:30 p.m. and open practice at 1:30 p.m.
Season ticket holders interested in Sunday's event in Cardinal Court need to RSVP by Wedsnesday, Oct. 19, at sportpromo@purdue.edu as availability is limited to the first 150 fans. The event opens up to the general public at 12:30, including inflatables and a variety of opportunities to interact with the team. The event moves to Mackey Arena at 1:30 p.m. as the Boilermakers will hold an hour-long open practice. The event is free and is also the first opportunity for fans to get the first of two 2015-16 schedule posters.
It will be Purdue's only public appearance before tipping off the season Nov. 6, with an exhibition game against Ursuline College, set for 2 p.m., in Mackey Arena. The regular season kicks off on the road at the University of Maine on Nov. 11, while the home opener is set for Thursday, Nov. 17, vs. USC Upstate.
The Boilermakers return eight members of the 2015-16 squad, which posted 20 victories and returned to the NCAA Tournament. Tri-captains and 2015-16 leading scorers Ashley Morrissette, Bridget Perry and Andreona Keys highlight the list of returners, while junior Bree Horrocks and sophomore Dominique McBryde are expected to make key contributions. Sunday also features fans first look at the four-person freshman class of Ae'Rianna Harris, Lamina Cooper, Miracle Gray and Dominique Oden.
