WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. - Purdue women's basketball head coach Sharon Versyp and several players met with the media Thursday in preparation for the official start of the 2016-17 season. The Boilermakers will hold their first practice Sunday in Mackey Arena, starting the 41st season of Purdue women's basketball.
In addition to Versyp senior Bridget Perry and junior Andreona Keys fielded questions, talking about the emphasis of the offseason, the four Boilermaker newcomers and the importance of their conditioning and strength training over the summer.
The Boilermakers join the Purdue men's basketball team Saturday for the Community Hoops Tip-Off event, set for 1 p.m. at Riehle Plaza in Lafayette.
The Boilermakers get game action gets underway Sunday, Nov. 6, as Purdue hosts Ursuline College for an exhibition contest.
