WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. -- Registration is now open for Purdue women's soccer's Oct. 23 Elite ID Camp and Goalkeeper Academy, held the day after the annual Golden Boot rivalry game with Indiana at Folk Field.
The Boilermakers' Elite ID Camp and Goalkeeper Academy on Sunday, Oct. 23 at Folk Field is open to girls currently in grades 8 to 12. The goalkeeper training begins at 8:30 a.m. and the rest of the Elite ID portion of the instruction gets underway at 10 a.m. The camp runs through 4 p.m. Lunch is provided and each attendee with receive a Purdue camp T-shirt. All participants also receive written feedback.
A Q&A session with current Purdue student-athletes and coaches will be held after lunch. The final two hours of the camp will feature 9v9 and 11v11 tournament action at Folk Field. Registration for the Elite ID Camp and Goalkeeper Academy will be limited to the first 50 players and six goalkeepers to sign up. The cost to attend is $175 for field players and $200 for goalkeepers.
Camp participants are encouraged to attend the Purdue-Indiana game the night before at Folk Field. The latest edition in the Golden Boot rivalry series kicks off at 7 p.m. All fans receive complimentary black pom-poms that night and are asked to wear black for the Boilermaker Blackout promotion.
"We're excited to announce our fall Elite ID Camp in conjunction with the rivalry game vs. Indiana, which is always one of the biggest games of the year on our schedule," head coach Drew Roff said. "This is an opportunity to experience Folk Field for the gameday environment Saturday night and then be on the pitch Sunday for a full day of instruction and competition."
Tickets to the Purdue-Indiana game are not included in cost of the camp, but are priced at only $5 for adults and $2 for youth.
The Elite ID Camp and Goalkeeper Academy is tailored towards serious soccer players interested in playing soccer collegiately. This camp is recommended for anyone who plays competitively at the club level or competes to play for a high school varsity team. Campers will gain insight into the daily activities and methods of the Purdue women's soccer program. The camp will culminate with an afternoon tournament where players will be grouped via age and ability to create the most competitive environment possible. All players will have the chance to play on Folk Field at the Boilermaker Soccer Complex. Parents are also invited to attend.
