WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. --- The Big Ten Conference has announced its 2016-17 composite schedule, releasing the dates of the Boilermakers' 18-game conference slate. The announcement completes Purdue's 31-game regular-season schedule that tips off Nov. 11, against McNeese State in Mackey Arena.

Purdue's home-and-away series will be with Indiana, Iowa, Michigan State, Northwestern and Penn State.

Meanwhile, Purdue will host single-play home games against Illinois, Minnesota, Rutgers and Wisconsin. Purdue's road games will come against Maryland, Michigan, Nebraska and Ohio State.

The Boilermakers open Big Ten play with home games in five of their first seven league games, beginning Dec. 28, when Iowa comes to visit. Purdue will return the trip to Iowa City on Jan. 12, making two of Purdue's first five league games against the Hawkeyes.

Purdue will then ring in the New Year on New Year's Day for the lone meeting of the season against Minnesota. The two teams met just once for the second straight year.

The Boilermakers then hit the road for their only meeting with Ohio State on Jan. 5, in Columbus. Purdue is just 1-13 in Value City Arena and will look for its first win in the facility since the 2009-10 season. It marks the second straight year the two squads play just once.

On Jan. 8, preseason league favorite Wisconsin visits Mackey Arena for a Sunday afternoon matinee and the lone meeting. Purdue swept the Badgers last season, but Wisconsin returns almost everyone from last year's Sweet 16 team.

After concluding the season series with Iowa, Purdue hosts a two-game homestand against Illinois on Jan. 17, and Penn State on Jan. 21. Illinois and Purdue will meet just once, while the Penn State series will conclude in Happy Valley on Feb. 21.

Following the first game with Penn State, Purdue will take to the road for four of its next five games. Purdue travels to East Lansing, Michigan, for the first of two meetings with Michigan State on Jan. 24, before heading to Lincoln, Nebraska, on Jan. 29 to face the Huskers.

Purdue returns home on Feb. 1, against Northwestern, but then heads to the road for two more games at Maryland on Feb. 4, and at Indiana on Feb. 9.

Rutgers visits Mackey Arena on Feb. 14, and then Michigan State wraps up the home-and-home with a trip to West Lafayette on Saturday, Feb. 18.

After closing out the series with Penn State on Feb. 21, Purdue heads to Michigan for a Feb. 25, tilt at the Crisler Center. Purdue hasn't won in Ann Arbor since the 2011-12 campaign.

Purdue closes out its home schedule Feb. 28, when Indiana comes to town to wrap up the season series.

The Boilermakers wrap up league play March 4 or 5 at Northwestern in Evanston, Illinois.

The Boilermakers return three starters and seven letterwinners from last year's team that posted a 26-9 record and was ranked in the nation's top 25 all year long. This year's team is ranked in the top 20 of nearly all preseason polls.

Mini plans and single-game tickets will go on sale to the general public online on Oct. 1, and tickets for the Villanova and Indiana games will only be available with the purchase of mini plans and season tickets.
