Tix Available for Alumni Game/Scrimmage

July 11, 2016

WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. -- Tickets for the Purdue men's basketball Alumni Game and Boilermaker intrasquad scrimmage are now available through the Purdue Athletics ticket office. Both events will be held at Lafayette Jefferson High School on Saturday, Aug. 6, beginning at 11 a.m.

Tickets will go on sale to John Purdue Club members today (July 11) and to the general public on Tuesday, July 12, priced at $5 (upper bowl) and $10 (lower bowl) in the 7,200-seat, air-conditioned gymnasium.

Tickets may be purchased by calling 800.49SPORT, visiting PurdueSports.com or at the Mackey Arena ticket office during business hours on Monday through Friday. If tickets remain on Aug. 6, walk-up tickets will be available at Lafayette Jefferson High School.

It marks the first time that the event has been held away from Mackey Arena, where the playing floor is being renovated after suffering water damage in May.

"Lafayette Jeff is extremely excited about the opportunity presented to host the Purdue Basketball Alumni Game / Scrimmage at main gymnasium, The Marion L. Crawley Center," Lafayette Jefferson High School athletic director Peyton Stovall said. "The Purdue Basketball Program has brought so many great memories to this area over the years and to have their rich tradition and loyal fans inside our historic gym at Lafayette Jeff will be amazing. I'm looking forward to the games and the date can't come soon enough. BOILER UP!"

This will be the third time the Alumni Game has been held and in both of the previous two events, approximately 40 former Boilermakers and coaches returned for the weekend. Players and coaches will be announced in the upcoming weeks prior to the Alumni Game.

With the Purdue basketball team heading to Spain later this summer, the squad will hold an intrasquad scrimmage following the Alumni Game to give fans a chance to see the Boilermakers before their departure the next day. NCAA regulations allow teams 10 practices before taking an International trip and the scrimmage on Aug. 6, will be the 10th and final practice for the Spain trip.

The Boilermakers return three starters from last year's 26-9 team and are ranked highly in the 2016-17 "way-too-early" prognostications.
