WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. - Bacon, buffalo wings, bow ties, bobbleheads and more highlight the promotions schedule for the 2016 volleyball season.
Mainstays on the lineup include the Block Party season opening tailgate, the annual Pack Mackey match, Social Media Night, Dig for a Cure and Senior Day.
New events include the Wing Wednesdays promotion, which will offer students free buffalo wings before the Sept. 21 and Nov. 2 matches, among others. Giveaways include bacon flavored lip balm, Purdue bow ties, and gold capes for Halloween.
The promotional slate kicks off with the Bacon Madness celebration on the morning of Aug. 26. Fans can start their day with free bacon before the season opener vs. Wyoming at 10 a.m. and the first 250 fans also will receive bacon flavored lip balm.
That evening, the Block Party student section will host its annual tailgate outside Holloway Gymnasium with free Puccini's Pizza, drinks, tailgate games and more. This is also the first time members may pick up their Block Party T-shirts. Membership opens on Aug. 1 and is limited to 300 students.
On Sept. 16, business professionals are invited to a pregame networking session in Weist Plaza, just outside of the gym as part of Suits and Spikes night.
On Saturday, Sept. 17, music, inflatables, games and more will be available in Weist Plaza as part of our Pregame Fan Fest ahead of the finale of the Stacey Clark Classic.
Sept. 21 marks the first Wing Wednesday of the season. Students can grab free wings before the game in the Mackey Arena Atrium beginning at 6:15 p.m. The first 500 students at the match also will receive a free Purdue bow tie. It's also Greek night as part of our Pack the House Challenge. The Greek house with the most students checked in at the match will be invited to a pizza party with the team after the season.
On Sept. 24, we'll pack Mackey Arena as the Boilermakers take on instate rival Indiana for the Monon Spike. It's a Boilermaker Kids Club game, so each member receives two free tickets. Purdue students also get in free. It is also Purdue Pete Bobblehead Night. For just a $5 upgrade per ticket, fans may receive the 1970s Purdue Pete Bobblehead, which is only available at this event. Tickets for Pack Mackey are just $5 for lower bowl tickets and $2 for upper bowl seating.
We invite you to don your best black and bring your smart phone on Sept. 30 as we take on Wisconsin live on the Big Ten Network on Boilermaker Blackout and Social Media Night.
It's clinic and camp reunion day at Holloway Gymnasium on Oct. 1. All preseason youth clinic participants will receive a free general admission ticket, while summer campers will receive $2 tickets. Oct. 28 is Dig for a Cure night, when the Boilermakers support breast cancer awareness. Fans are invited to wear pink to support the cause. The first 500 fans will receive a free pink T-shirt.
It's Halloween in Holloway on Oct. 29. Students will receive a free gold cape as a last minute costume. We also will host a costume contest for all ages.
The dorms will face off in the Nov. 2 Pack the House Challenge with a pizza party on the line for the dorm with the most students checked in. It's also Wing Wednesday, with free wings available to students before the match.
The Boilermakers wrap the 2016 home season on Nov. 12 and will celebrate lone senior Faye Adelaja in a pregame ceremony.
Ticket deals include Family 4-Pack nights, football double dips and basketball double dips. Family 4-Pack dates, which offer two adult and two youth tickets for just $20, are Aug. 27, Sept. 17, Oct. 1, Oct. 15, Oct. 29 and Nov. 12. Football Double Dips, which offer $2 general admission tickets with that day's football ticket stub, are Oct. 15, Oct. 29 and Nov. 12. Basketball double dip events on Nov. 2 and Nov. 12, offer $2 general admission tickets with the previous day's men's basketball ticket stub.
Season tickets are on sale now, with a priority deadline of July 18. Single-game tickets go on sale to John Purdue Club members July 26 and to the general public Aug. 1. For more information, click here.
