T&F Heads to Border Battle in Louisville

WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. -
The Boilermakers will travel to Louisville, Kentucky, for the Louisville Border Battle. Purdue will send 56 student-athletes to compete at University of Louisville Cardinal Park for the two day event.

THE COMPETITION
The Boilermakers will compete against several teams from the power conferences, including conference rival Indiana. Other teams competing include:

-Louisville
-Michigan State
-Notre Dame
-Pittsburgh

PURDUE HEADLINERS
Many familiar faces will be competing for the Boilermakers and head coach Lonnie Greene.

Jessica Harter will return to competition in the long jump and her main event, the pole vault, after a big day last weekend at the LSU Tiger Invitational. The senior cleared 4.17 meters (13-8.25) in the pole vault for the first time in her career, which is the second-best in program history, just three centimeters shy of the program record. Her clearance is tied for 20thin the country.

Savannah Roberson will look to continue to post impressive times, following her PR in the 200m dash last Saturday in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. The sophomore ran a wind-legal time of 23.73 seconds (+2.0), which is the third-fastest 200m dash in program history. Additionally, she will compete in the 100m hurdles and the 4x400-meter relays this weekend.

Micaela Hazlewood headlines the women throwers, following her performance at the LSU Tiger Invitational. The sophomore threw 14.75m (48-4.75) in the shot put, which ranks sixth in program history. She also finished fourth in the discus. She will be competing in both events this weekend in Louisville.

Malcolm Dotson is set to run in the men's 100m dash. The freshman looks to move up in the progrma rankings, as he is currently just outside of the top 10.

Chukwuebuka Enekwechi is among a talented group of throwers making the trip for the men. Enekwechi will compete in the shot put and hammer throw, both of which he currently ranks in the top 15 nationally.

Anaquan Peterson will be back competing in the triple jump. Last weekend in Baton Rouge, he posted a best jump of 15.44m (50-8.00).
