Meet Schedule / Thursday / Friday / Saturday
MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. - The Boilermakers are set to begin the outdoor season this weekend with the three-day Alan Connie Shamrock Invitational. The meet begins Thursday at 11 a.m. ET and concludes Saturday at 5:45 p.m. All of the weekend's action will take place at Doug Shaw Memorial Stadium.
THE COMPETITION
Purdue opens the outdoor season five days after the conclusion of the indoor season and will compete against several top programs. Among the competing teams are:
- South Carolina
- Tennessee
- Rutgers
- Clemson
- Coastal Carolina
THURSDAY'S ACTION
The Boilermakers are in the middle of their spring break trip to Myrtle Beach and wrap up the week of practice with the meet. Thursday's action is the men's hammer throw and the first five events of the decathlon. Caleb Fricke and Luke Lewis will compete in the hammer throw, while Matthew Garrison and Tim Deal will compete in the decathlon. The weight throw begins at 11 a.m., while the decathlon 100m dash starts at 12:05.
FRIDAY'S ACTION
Friday begins with the last five events of the decathlon, starting at 9 a.m. Track events begin at 12:30 with the women's mile. The Boilermakers have 27 entries in Friday's events, including six women in the 100-meter dash. Topher Hunnewell and Brad Hoselton will see their 2016 debut as the javelin pair is scheduled to begin at 3:30.
SATURDAY'S ACTION
Saturday will be a full day at the track, as the men's discus kicks things off at 9 a.m. and the men's 4x400m relay will wrap things up with a 5:30 start. The 4x100m relays will have their first test of the year, including the women who are coming off a first team All-America finish last season.
