The Orange got one run back in the bottom of the inning as Corinne Ozanne lifted a two-out solo home run.

Stewart reached on an infield single and stole second in the fifth, but the Boilermakers came up empty.

Syracuse ended the game in the fifth, tacking on four runs on three hits. Dossett launched her second home run of the game, sending a two-run shot to left center and capitalizing on a leadoff walk. A walk and a fielder's choice put two aboard, setting the table for an RBI double by pinch hitter Andrea Bombace. A Dewes single up the middle drove in the game-ending run.
