Chukwuebuka Enekwechi set a new world lead in the weight throw and won two events Saturday at the Fred Wilt Invitational. The Boilermakers won 18 events, with nine victories by both the men and women.

Enekwechi had his most consistent series of the season in the weight throw. He opened with a mark of 22.72 meters (74-6.50), which is farther than all but one thrower in the world this year. He followed that up with four marks over 23 meters, all better than anyone else in the world this season, including a mark of 23.89m (78-4.50). That is his season best, improving his previous best by 4.25 inches. Enekwechi now has the world lead by exactly three and a half feet. Enekwechi then competed in the shot put. He won by three feet, and three quarters of an inch with a best throw of 18.97m (62-3.00).

Carmiesha Cox had one of her best days of the season on the track. The junior ran the top 60m dash time in the prelims, as well as in the finals. She posted times of 7.57 seconds and 7.55 seconds. Cox followed that up with a winning effort in the 200m dash, where she crossed the finish line in 24.19 seconds. That time converts to 23.82 seconds, which is 44th in the country this season and would be the second-fastest time in program history, though she already holds the school record with a time of 23.68 seconds. Cox also anchored the women's winning 4x400m relay team, which included teammates Symone Black, Taylor Dunlap and Aarin Jones. The group ran a time of 3:40.31 to win by more than four seconds. Their time converts 3:37.43, which is the 25th best time in the country this season and the team's best this year.

Shantyra Delaney had a career day in the women's 60m hurdles. She ran a pair of PRs, starting with a time of 8.53 seconds in the prelims. That time was the fourth fastest overall, which advanced her to finals. There, she posted a time of 8.48 seconds to finish runner-up with the sixth-fastest time in program history. Savannah Roberson matched her career best in the 200m dash, finishing third with a time of 24.27 seconds, which is the fifth-fastest time in program history. That time converts to 23.90 seconds, which ranks 60th in the country.

Vanessa McLeod had a season-best day in the 800m run. She won the event by nearly two seconds with a time of 2:10.89. That time converts to 2:09.40. Susan Hubbard also had a season-best day in the event. She was runner-up with a time of 2:12.33, which converts to 2:10.83. Sarah Loesch won the weight throw with a PR. She had the most consistent series of her career, topping 18.60m (61-0.25) four times. She threw a best of 18.82m (61-9.00), which won by two feet, seven inches. The mark ranks eighth in program history.

Malcolm Dotson matched his PR in the 60m dash. The freshman ran a time of 6.78 seconds in the finals, after qualifying through the prelims, to win the event. His time is tied for the sixth fastest in program history. He also won the 200m dash with a time of 21.98 seconds, the only runner in the competition to break 22 seconds. Justin Veteto and Tim Deal went 1-2 in the men's 60m hurdles. Veteto won with a time of 8.06 seconds, while Deal finished with a runner-up time of 8.10 seconds.

At the Iowa State meet, Kendall Hacker ran the fifth-fastest 5k in program history, finishing 16th in the race with a time of 16:28.22. Her time was the fastest at Purdue in three seasons. Alyssa Christoffer broke five minutes in the mile for the first time in her career. She finished in 4:57.93.

The Boilermakers are at Notre Dame next weekend for their last meet before the Big Ten Championships the final weekend of February. The one-day meet begins Saturday morning.
