SUGAR GROVE, Ill. --- Darkness postponed the conclusion of the second round at the Northern Intercollegiate, but not before the Purdue men's golf team pieced together two solid rounds to sit in fourth place after Saturday's action at Rich Harvest Farms.
With three players (Brian Carlson, Austin Eoff, Fernando Barco) still on the course finishing up their final three holes of the second round, Purdue recorded a first-round score of 7-over par 295, and currently sits at 6-over par late into its second round for a 13-over par total.

Two Boilermakers were able to finish their days as Stuart Macdonald and Chad Phillips completed their second rounds.
Macdonald, a senior from Vancouver, B.C., is currently in a tie for 10th at 1-over par 145 (73-72). In the second round, Macdonald was 3-over par through seven holes, but birdied his 11th, 12th and 13th holes to move to even-par for his round. He would par his final five holes to finish his day 1-over par.
Phillips, playing in his first career round on the counting team, had a solid day by finishing at 6-over par 150 (75-75) to sit in a 29th-place tie. Phillips (tied with Macdonald) was second in the field in birdies with eight, recording four in each round.
Through 15 holes in the second round, Fernando Barco is currently in a 12th-place tie at 2-over par. Barco fired a 1-over par 73 in his opening round and is currently 1-over par in his second round.
Austin Eoff is currently tied for 23rd after 15 holes in his second round at 5-over par. He totaled a 2-over par 74 in the opening round and is currently 3-over par in his second round.
Sophomore Brian Carlson rounds out Purdue's attack and is 7-over par through 15 holes of his second round. Carlson shot a 5-over par 77 in the first round, before settling down in the second round, currently at 2-over par.
Individually, freshman Jarle Volden was able to finish both his rounds on Saturday and currently sits tied for 18th at 4-over par 148 (77-71). Volden had a sensational second round, registering four birdies and posting a 2-under par score on par-5 holes, good for sixth in the field.
Action will resume at 8 a.m. CT in a shotgun start to conclude the second round and teams will remain with their first and second round playing partners (Toledo and Indiana) for final round action, which will start immediately after the conclusion of the second round.
