WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. - Junior pitcher Lilly Fecho was named to the second team All-Big Ten team as announced by the conference office on Wednesday.

Fecho has rewritten the Purdue strikeout records in 2015, setting a new standard for both single game and season K's. The junior set the school game record with 19 strikeouts against Florida Gulf Coast, Feb. 20 and also has broken the school season record for strikeouts with 280 thus far in 2015

The league's Big Ten Pitcher of the Week, on Feb. 23 has seen action in 41 games, starting 35, posting a 19-16 record and one save with a school record 280 strikeouts and a 1.98 ERA in 229.2 innings pitched. Fecho threw a complete-game no-hitter against Indiana State, April 29 and has tossed four complete-game one-hitters (vs. #24 Texas A&M, vs. Indiana State and twice vs. Wisconsin). The Carol Stream, Ill., native has struck out five or more batters in 27 games, including 10 or more in 12 contests , while holding opposing batters to a .196 average. She ranks ninth nationally in strikeouts (280), 31st in strikeouts per seven innings (8.5), 39th in hits allowed per seven innings (5.03), 40th in wins (19) and 44th in ERA (1.98). Among Big Ten players, Fecho ranks first in looking strikeouts (66) and innings pitched, second in strikeouts, third in opponent batting average, fourth in ERA and tied for fourth in wins. In Big Ten play, she ranked first in innings pitched (105), third in looking strikeouts (29) and strikeouts (115), fourth in opponent batting average (.221) and fifth in ERA (2.53). Fecho also has moved up the Purdue career pitching listings, ranking third in complete games (61) and strikeouts (583) and fourth in innings pitched (609).

This is the second league honor for Fecho, following second team honors in 2014. Her selection marks the ninth straight season Purdue has boasted at least one All-Big Ten selection (dating to 2007).

Junior second baseman Mary Gooding was named as Purdue's Sportsmanship Award honoree. Gooding started all 54 games at second base, batting .233 with 20 runs, 15 RBI, five doubles and a triple, including a .271 mark in Big Ten play. The Leawood, Kan., native scored four game-winning runs and one game-tying effort, while driving in one game-winning RBI and one to tie a game. She drew 20 walks and was hit by a pitch three times, while also laying down a team-best eight sacrifice bunts, ranking second among Big Ten players. Gooding reached base in 35 games and posted multiple hits in eight games, including three perfect 2-for-2 outings. She put together a four-game hit streak from April 26 to May 1 and reached base in seven straight games April 1 to April 12. In Big Ten play, she scored eight runs and added three doubles and three RBI. She ranked tied for fifth in league play with three sac bunts.

The Boilermakers continue their 2015 season at noon Thursday when they open the Big Ten Tournament in Columbus, Ohio, against No. 5 seed Illinois.
