WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. -- Purdue baseball continues midweek play with an April road trip to Terre Haute for the third year in a row and the first of two meetings this season with Indiana State.

First pitch at Bob Warn Field Tuesday is set for 6 p.m. Purdue is also scheduled to host ISU Tuesday, April 21, for the opener of a six-game homestand at Alexander Field.

Tuesday's game marks the beginning of not only a road-heavy stretch, but a stretch in which the Boilers will play all of their road games on artificial turf fields. Over the next two weeks, Purdue will play seven of its eight games away from Alexander Field. Bob Warn Field features a turf infield and a grass outfield. Illinois Field and Ray Fisher Stadium (Michigan) are all artificial turf. Last month, Purdue played on turf fields at Grand Park in Westfield, Indiana, as well as at Louisville and Ball State, going 2-4 in those games.

Over the next two weeks, the Boilers will be in search of their first true road win since March 6 at Oklahoma. Tuesday's contest also marks the end of a 14-game stretch in which all of Purdue's games have been played inside the state of Indiana.

The Boilermakers are 2-3 in midweek action after defeating IPFW last week. Tuesday's game is their first against a Missouri Valley Conference foe this year. They'll also host Illinois State April 28 in the finale of the aforementioned six-game homestand.

Indiana State is 13-15 on the season after dropping two of three at Wichita State this past weekend. The Sycamores also played games at Grand Park earlier this season, splitting two with Youngstown State March 8-9. Indiana State has home wins vs. common opponents Rutgers, Butler and Ball State, and dropped a pair of one-run games at Nebraska March 17-18.

The Sycamores' 35 wins a year ago were enough for their second at-large berth to an NCAA Regional in the last three seasons. After going two and out as the host of the MVC Tournament, ISU was the No. 2 seed in the Bloomington Regional hosted by Indiana.

Indiana State has had quite a bit of roster turnover from last year. But southpaw Trent Lunsford is slated to start on the mound against Purdue for the second year in a row. He gave up just one hit over four-plus innings of two-run ball last season in Terre Haute. Landon Curry and Derrek Hannahs are holdovers in the lineup, but it's JUCO transfer Andy Young (.356, 15 XBH, 29 RBI) that's having the big year at the plate for ISU. Hannahs is the son of the Sycamores' second-year skipper, Mitch Hannahs.
