Volleyball Adds Peters to Incoming Class

Dec. 5, 2014

WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. - The Boilermaker volleyball team added another all-state and high school All-America selection to its ranks for 2015 as Avon, Ind., native Brooke Peters has joined the class of incoming freshmen. Peters, a 5-9 libero from Avon High School, will enroll at Purdue in the spring.

An AVCA Under Armour Third Team All-America selection in November, Peters also was listed as one of PrepVolleyball.com's 250 Senior Aces. Avon's all-time career leader in digs (1,160), matches played (156) and sets played (432), she led the Orioles to state championships in 2012 and 2013, a runner-up finish in 2011 and a semi-state berth in 2014. A first team all-state and all-Hoosier Crossroads Conference selection in 2014, Peters led Avon with 403 digs and 39 aces, while also being named to the Senior Indiana South Volleyball All-Star team. She also earned All-Star team selection after leading her team to the state title as a junior. Peters plays club volleyball for the Circle City Volleyball Club, which won the 17 open division at the 2014 Northeast National Qualifier title in Philadelphia and finished seventh at USAV Nationals. The daughter of Dave and Barb Peters, Brooke plans to major in nursing at Purdue.

Peters joins Alex Smith and Blake Mohler, both Under Armour All-Americans and Prep Volleyball Senior Aces, in the incoming class of Boilermakers. Purdue expects to add one more member to the group in the coming weeks.
