WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. - The Purdue men's tennis team will close out its fall campaign at the B1G Men's Tennis Indoor Championships hosted by Minnesota. Action is set to get underway from the Baseline Tennis Center in Minneapolis Friday with a full day of doubles competition. Singles matches take to the court starting Saturday and will battle through Monday.
Mateus Silva and Lucas Dages are the only doubles team set to represent the Boilermakers. The junior and sophomore will play side-by-side for the first time in their respective careers as they take on Michigan's Tyler Gardiner and Kevin Wong at 10 a.m. ET. Regardless of the outcome, Silva and Dages' second match follows at 11:30 a.m.
Singles draws will be available Friday.
Nine of the conference's 12 schools that sponsor men's tennis will compete at the B1G Men's Tennis Indoor Championships: Minnesota, Iowa, Michigan, Michigan State, Nebraska, Northwestern, Ohio State, Purdue and Wisconsin. Illinois, Indiana and Penn State will not be in attendance.
Scoring for the B1G Men's Tennis Indoor Championships will be an eight game pro-set with tiebreak at 7-all for doubles, main draw singles will be two out of three sets and back draw singles will be two out of three with a super-tiebreak in lieu of a third set. No-ad scoring will be used for all matches.
