Three Selected to Saint Francis Health System ITA All-American Championships

WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. - Three Purdue men's tennis players will be in action at the 2014 Saint Francis Health System ITA Men's All-American Championships starting Saturday at the Michael D. Case Tennis Center in Tulsa, Okla. The event has Pre-Qualifying, Qualifying and Main Draws for singles and Qualifying and Main Draws for doubles. The University of Tulsa is the host of the tournament that runs through Oct. 6.

Diego Acosta and Mateus Silva were selected for the Pre-Qualifying Singles Draw. Over the course of Saturday and Sunday, 256 individuals will battle for 16 spots that move forward into the 128-player Qualifying Draw (Sept. 29 - Oct. 1). Ricky Medinilla was selected for a spot in the Qualifying Draw. From there 16 individuals advance into the 64-player Main Draw (Oct. 2-6).

For the second consecutive year, Medinilla has been a Qualifying Doubles selection. He and Acosta, the ITA's 41st-preseason ranked duo, are one of 128 pairs in the draw. Four advance into the 32-team Main Draw.
