WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. - Purdue Athletics will host a special Homecoming edition of the popular Boiler Bridge Walk this Friday.
Boilermaker fans are encouraged to gather at the John T. Myers Pedestrian Bridge on either side of the Wabash River at 5:30 p.m. The football team will soon join the Purdue faithful and walk from West Lafayette to Lafayette before heading to its team dinner.
The Purdue spirit squad and Purdue Pete also will be on hand to greet fans and distribute free giveaways, and free Puccini's Smiling Teeth will be served.
The Boilermakers open Big Ten Conference play Saturday against Iowa. Game time is set for noon at Ross-Ade Stadium, and the game will be televised by BTN.
Construction on the Myers Bridge, which had postponed the Bridge Walk for the 2014 season, has been delayed in getting under way.
