WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. -- Purdue women's soccer closes out the month of September with a home-for-Homecoming weekend, hosting Minnesota and No. 13 Wisconsin for the third year in a row.

Kickoff at the Boilermaker Soccer Complex is set for 7 p.m. Friday vs. Minnesota (4-5, 1-2 Big Ten) and 1 p.m. Sunday against Wisconsin (8-1, 2-1 Big Ten). Both opponents visit West Lafayette for the third year in a row, becoming the first teams to travel to the Boilermaker Soccer Complex for three straight seasons since Northwestern (2000-03) and Michigan (2000-02) did so during a stretch in which Purdue hosted the Big Ten Tournament in 2001.

The Friday Family ticket special in place for the Minnesota game allows fans to purchase two adult tickets and two youth tickets for $12. Postgame birthday celebrations for Purdue Pete and head coach Robert Klatte are planned for Sunday.

With Wisconsin retaining its No. 13 national ranking in this week's NSCAA poll, the Boilers (6-3-1, 2-2 Big Ten) will be playing a ranked opponent three weekends in a row for the first time since 2005. In 2010, Purdue also played three nationally-ranked teams in a stretch of six games. After losing to No. 8 Penn State and No. 22 Illinois earlier this month, the Boilers are still in search of their first victory against a ranked foe since August 2009 at No. 6 Texas A&M.

The Badgers lead the Big Ten with a plus-20 goal differential and are one of four teams around the league that sport an 8-1 overall record. Purdue enjoyed a five-year unbeaten streak against UW from 2006-10, but the Badgers are now unbeaten in the last five meetings, outscoring the Boilers, 12-4, over the last three years.

The road team has won each of the last three Purdue-Minnesota games. The Boilermakers have not beaten the Gophers in West Lafayette since 2007.

Mollie Kuramoto (2011) and Maddy Williams (2013) have scored against Minnesota during their careers. Kate Fowee (2012) and Alex Hairston (2013) have goals against Wisconsin.

Last season at the Boilermaker Soccer Complex, the Gophers' Katie Thyken scored the first of her two goals 55 seconds after the opening kickoff. It marked the fourth earliest goal conceded by Purdue in program history. Needing a result to keep their Big Ten Tournament hopes alive that day, the Boilers went on to outshoot Minnesota, 25-8, but goalkeeper Tarah Hobbs made 12 saves to preserve her team's 2-1 win. Thyken and Hobbs are both back this season.

Wisconsin's Kinley McNicoll and Rose Lavelle both scored in the Badgers' 3-1 win in West Lafayette last year. McNicoll represented Canada and Lavelle the USA at the U-20 Women's World Cup last month in Canada. Cara Walls and McNicoll have both scored seven goals this season to rank second in the Big Ten. Three of McNicoll's scores have come on penalty kicks.

Next month, Purdue plays at Iowa for the third year in a row. The Boilermakers have not traveled to the same Big Ten town three years in a row since it went to Ann Arbor (2005-07) and University Park (2004-07) multiple times during a stretch in which those campuses also served as the Big Ten Tournament hosts.

Quick Look at Minnesota: The Golden Gophers scored 10 of their 19 goals in a season-opening win at Stetson. Conversely, 10 of the 13 goals that Minnesota has conceded were in losses to quality opponents Florida State (4-1), Mississippi (3-2) and Auburn (3-1). With four goals and six assists, Simone Kolander has impacted more than half of her team's scores. Sydney Squires also has four goals this season. Both games of the Gophers' Big Ten-opening road trip to Michigan and Michigan State went to overtime; they lost in Ann Arbor before winning in East Lansing. Iowa scored off a first-half corner kick last weekend and the goal held up in a 1-0 final in St. Paul.

Quick Look at Wisconsin: Michigan scored off a deflected free kick in the final seconds of regulation to hand the Badgers their only loss of the season Sept. 14 in Ann Arbor. Wisconsin had scored in the opening minute of overtime at Michigan State two days earlier. The Badgers made their big jump in the national rankings after outscoring Washington and Portland, 7-0, en route to winning Washington's tournament the third weekend of the season. Wisconsin led the entire game Saturday in its 3-0 shutout of Nebraska after Kodee Williams scored in the opening minute. Williams has six assists to go along with her three goals. Goalkeeper Genevieve Richard is in her second season as the full-time starter.
