WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. - The Boilermaker volleyball team will be coming to a small screen near you five times during the 2014 season on the Big Ten Network and will be available to watch on the internet on several more occasions.
Purdue will make its 2014 debut on BTN when the team faces off with in-state foe Notre Dame in Mackey Arena on Sept. 20 to close out the Active Ankle Challenge tournament. The match will air live at 8 p.m.
The Boilermakers will be on the network three times in a two week span in late October. When the Boilers take on Penn State on Oct. 17, the BTN will be live from Belin Court at 8 p.m. The following week, the team's Oct. 25 contest against Illinois in Champaign will be broadcast at 6 p.m. West Lafayette will again be in the spotlight when Purdue takes on Wisconsin, October 29, at 7:30 p.m. The always hotly-contested match with Nebraska in Lincoln on Nov. 5 at 7:30 p.m. will round out the scheduled television dates.
In addition to the five Big Ten Network broadcasts, the Boilermakers' Sept. 6 match against Kennesaw State at the KSU Owls Invitational will be streamed on ESPN3.
Sixteen other Purdue volleyball contests will be streamed on BTN2Go.com via the new BTN Plus subscription service. Fans can access streamed coverage here. All six of the Boilermakers matches at the Mortar Board Premier and Active Ankle Challenge home tournaments will be streamed, including the aforementioned Big Ten Network broadcast of the Notre Dame contest.
Home Big Ten matches against Michigan (Sept. 26), Michigan State (Sept. 27), Indiana (Oct. 8), Ohio State (Oct. 18), Minnesota (Nov. 1), Maryland (Nov. 12), Northwestern (Nov. 15) and Rutgers (Nov. 19) will also be streamed on the service. Road games at Rutgers (Oct. 3), Indiana (Oct. 11), Iowa (Nov. 8), Minnesota (Nov. 22) and Wisconsin (Nov. 28) also be available via BTN Plus.
The Sept. 26 match against Michigan will be broadcast on the Big Ten Network at 9 a.m. ET on Sept. 29 as part of the Student U initiative.
The Boilermakers open the 2014 season on Aug. 29, when they play host to USF, San Diego and LSU in the Mortar Board Premier tournament. Purdue kicks off the event with a 10 a.m. contest against USF and will play San Diego at 7:30 p.m. to cap Day 1. The team will wrap up opening weekend with a 7 p.m. match against LSU on Aug. 30. Streaming video will be available for all three matches on BTN2go.com.
