WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. - As part of our countdown to the season, we will give you the inside scoop on one of our 16 players. With five days left until the home opener, we introduce redshirt freshman Ashley Evans, a 6-1 setter from Liberty Township, Ohio.
Prep Volleyball's No. 21 Senior Ace in 2013 has a year of experience in the Purdue system under her belt after redshirting last season. A two-time Prep Volleyball.com All-American, two-time first team all-state selection and two-time Greater Miami Conference Player of the Year, Evans did it all for her Lakota East team as a senior, contributing 3.81 kills, 3.57 digs and 1.38 assist per set to go with 54 aces.
A member of the 2013 Women's Junior National A1 Training program also was the recipient of several academic accolades as a prepster. The daughter of David and Ann Evans has a brother, Brian, who also is a Purdue student.
