WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. - The football team hosted its Kick Scrimmage on Wednesday and it was the black team that took it to the gold. Punter Thomas Meadows and kicker Ian MacDougall led the way for the black team.
Meadows did a nice job with his punting duties Wednesday as he placed three punts at or inside the 10-yard line, including one downed at the three. MacDougall had a strong start to the scrimmage, showing consistency from the mid-range. Purdue's return units looked good, as Frankie Williams had a long punt return and the duo of Akeem Hunt and Raheem Mostert showed some electrifying potential on kickoff return.
Head coach Darrell Hazell spoke to the media after practice and said he likes his kicking situation, but would like to see both MacDougall and Paul Griggs exhibit more consistency, especially on the mid-range kicks. His interview can be found below.
