WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. - The Boilermaker softball team is celebrating its history with an Alumnae Reunion Day celebration on April 19.
The event, which will feature a lunch, a facility tour and family fun at the ballpark, coincides with the team's 5 p.m. contest against Illinois. The game will air live on the Big Ten Network and also has been designated as Social Media Day.
Alumnae planning to attend the event should RSVP to purduesoftball@gmail.com. RSVP's should include the alumna's name, number of guests attending with her, graduation year and T-shirt size.
The schedule for the day is below:
Noon
Luncheon at the Spurgeon Club in Mackey Arena for alumni and their guests;
Meet & Greet with current coaching staff and team members
1:15 p.m.
Tour of athletics facilities - Mackey, Drew Brees Center, Mollenkopf
3:30 p.m.
Tailgate - music, lawn games out at the field
4:45 p.m.
Alumni will be recognized on the field before the game
5 p.m.
Game vs. Illinois (Televised by BTN)
The Boilermakers will be hosting the Fighting Illini in a three-game series beginning at 4 p.m. April 18 with a Strike Out Cancer game. Fans are encouraged to wear pink to support the cancer awareness cause. Funds will also be collected and donated to the American Cancer Society.
Purdue will round out the weekend with a noon Sunday game against the Illini. An Easter egg hunt will take place following that contest.
