AUBURN, Ala. - Emily Fogle represented Purdue women's swimming and diving with distinction Friday on day two of the NCAA Championships, finishing fourth in the consolation final of the 100 breaststroke to garner Honorable Mention All-America recognition.
Fogle finished with a time of 59.85 in the evening finals, breaking the one-minute mark in the 100 breast for the second time this year. She qualified for the NCAA Championships with a school-record time of 59.53 at the Big Ten Championships.
Fogle was one of five swimmers in the consolation final Friday to finish in under a minute. All eight swimmers in the consolation final finished within less than one second of each other.
Fogle is the first Purdue swimmer to garner All-America honors in an individual event since Allie Smith and Caitlin Hamilton in 2010. Fogle also earned Honorable Mention All-America recognition last year as part of the 800 free relay team.
