WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. - The Purdue University men's golf team concluded play on ‎Sunday at the Mason Rudolph Men's Championship in 11th place with a cumulative score ‎of 870 (+18). The tournament, hosted by Vanderbilt, was played at Vanderbilt Legends ‎Club in Franklin, Tenn. The course played to a par of 71 and 7,100 yards long. ‎ After the first of three rounds, Purdue's score of 286 (+2) placed them in a tie for fifth in ‎a field of 17. South Carolina led the tournament with a score of 281 (-3). ‎ The Boilermakers used a second round score of 293 (+9) to place in a tie for ninth as play ‎finished on Saturday. The Boilermakers finished round two with a cumulative score of ‎‎579 (+11). South Carolina remained atop the leaderboard with a cumulative score of 561 ‎‎(-7). ‎
On Sunday, the Boilermakers shot 291 (+7) to finish in 11th place for the tournament. ‎South Carolina, who shot a 278 (-6) on Sunday, won the tournament with a score of 839 ‎‎(-13). Rounding out the top three were Kentucky with an 847 (-5) and Mississippi State ‎with an 850 (-2). ‎
Tyler Duncan led the Boilermakers with scores of 70, 73, and 72, which placed him in a ‎tie for 17th. Duncan's 70 is his second lowest score of the season. Kentucky's Ben Fuqua ‎won the tournament with a 68 and two consecutive days of 65 to finish at 198 (-15) for ‎the tournament. ‎
Nakarintra Ratanakul used scores of 73, 72, and 71 to finish in a tie for 21st. Other ‎traveling Boilermakers Erich Johnston, William Sjaichudin, and David Gerszstein all ‎contributed at least one round to the team's score.
Purdue's next tournament will be the Wendon Memorial Classic in Glenview, Ill. The ‎tournament will tee off on Sunday, Oct. 5, and conclude on Monday, Oct. 6.‎
