Albuquerque, N.M. - Weather continues to be an issue at the 2008 NCAA Women's Golf Championships in Albuquerque, N.M., as eight teams were unable to finish the third round due to darkness. The sixth-ranked Boilermakers completed 18 holes, scoring a 303 (298-304-303=905). Purdue was in 11th place when play was halted at the par 72, 6,424-yard University of New Mexico Championship Golf Course. After the conclusion of the third round the Boilermakers were tied for 10th

"I thought we would respond better today," head coach Devon Brouse said. "About 13 holes through the round today we were 10-over par (for the round) and then I counted at least nine three-putts; so we struggled with the greens. Hopefully, tomorrow we can find that putting touch and make a run up the leaderboard."

The third round was scheduled for a shotgun start at 2:30 p.m. ET after high winds halted play on Wednesday afternoon, forcing half the field to finish the second round on Thursday morning. The start of the third round was delayed for half an hour due to inclement weather in the area and players were pulled off the course just 15 minutes into the round when a thunderstorm that included light hail, hit the course. Play resumed after an hour and five minute delay.

Neither Southern California nor UCLA were able to finish the third round and were tied for first at 16-over par when play was suspended. Azahara Munoz of Arizona State holds the individual lead with a two-under 214 (69-72-73). Belen Moro from Southern California and UCLA's Tiffany Joh are tied for second at one-under (215).

Three Boilermakers recorded 75s on Thursday, junior Christel Boeljon and freshmen Junthima Gulyanamitta and Maude-Aimee Leblanc. Boeljon and Maria Hernandez, who fired a 78 in the third round, are tied for 26th with scores of 225. LeBlanc is one shot back at 226, tying her for 33rd, while Gulyanamitta is tied for 58th with a three-day total of 229.

Junior Stephanie Oukeo carded a 78 on Thursday, her lowest round of the tournament and is tied for 108th with a score of 241.

A total of 21 golfers will complete the third round Friday beginning at 9 a.m. ET with the fourth and final round slated to begin with tee times starting at 10 a.m.

The Boilermakers will tee off beginning at 2:30 p.m. and will be grouped with Wake Forest and Auburn. Live video and scoring of the NCAA Championships is available at GolfStat.com. Daily recaps can be found at purduesports.com.
