FRANKLIN, Tenn. - The seventh-ranked Purdue women's golf team was unable to gain ground at the 2007 Mason Rudolph Championship, finishing 10th in perhaps the toughest field it will face in the regular season. The Boilermakers fired a 300 on Sunday, giving them a team total of 890 for the tournament. Junior Maria Hernandez was low-golfer for the Boilermakers recording a tournament-total of 216, tying her for 10th place as an individual.

UCLA captured the championship in record breaking fashion, firing a three-round total of 13-under par, 851, ten strokes better than the previous record of 861 set by Ohio State in 2001. On the individual side, Duke's Amanda Blumenherst beat her own individual record for the Mason Rudolph Championship in route to her second individual title with a final score of 203, five strokes lower than her 208 total in 2005.

Hernandez carded a 73 in the final round to finish even-par. No Boilermaker was able to score par or below on the final day. Junior Christel Boeljon finished tied for 31st after firing a 74 on Sunday for a tournament total of 222 (+6). She scored an opening round 73, followed by a 76 in the second round.

Freshman Maude-Aimee Leblanc, a native of Quebec, Canada, tied for 42nd with a total score of 224. She shot a 79 in the final round after scores of 73 and 72 in the first two rounds. Junthima Gulyanamitta, also a freshman, tied for 57th with a tournament-total of 228. Gulyanamitta, from Thailand, saved her best round of the tournament for the final day, carding a 74 after rounds of 78 and 76.

The Mason Rudolph was hosted by No. 8 Vanderbilt and showcased the top-nine teams in the nation, according to Golfweek, and 14 out of the top-27 teams in women's collegiate golf. The event was held at the Vanderbilt Legends Club, on the par-72, 6,217-yard Ironhorse Course.

The Boilermakers return to action Sept. 24-26 at the NCAA Preview in Albuquerque, N.M.
