WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. - The Purdue men's golf team finished with a two-round 602 and tied Northwestern for second place in the Boilermaker Invitational at the Kampen Course in West Lafayette, Ind. Michigan State won the event after firing a 292 on Sunday, the lowest round of the tournament.

Michigan State's Ryan Brehm took home individual medalist honors. Brehm carded a two-below par 70, giving him a two-round total of 142 to finish in first place. Wisconsin's Jeff Kaiser finished in second, four strokes behind Brehm.

Unseasonably cold weather delayed play on Saturday and Sunday, limiting the tournament to 36 holes from the scheduled 54 holes.

The Boilermakers were paced by freshman Vince Nadeau who tied for fourth after following his opening round 75 with a 73 on Sunday. It is the second consecutive tournament that Nadeau has finished as Purdue's low golfer.

Senior Peter Richardson carded a 150 and finished tied for 15th. Pariya Junhasavasdikul finished just two strokes behind Richardson with a 152 which placed him in a tie for 24th. Michael Randle also tied for 24th place after recording scores of 76 both days.

Purdue sophomore Tom Oliver, competing as an individual, finished in third place after firing a second round 70 to finish the tournament with a score of 147.

Bobby Bennett tied for 43rd with a final score of 155. Competing as individuals, Brandon Lawson finished with a 163 and Ryan Thomas carded a tournament total of 174.

No. 28 Auburn finished in fourth place with a two-round 607. Michigan improved four spots, finishing in fifth place with a team total of 608.
