Rain, Rain, Go Away

COLUMBUS, Ohio - Despite rainy conditions in Columbus, Ohio, the Purdue men's golf team finished the first day of competition at the Robert Kepler Intercollegiate tied for seventh with host Ohio State. However, play was suspended in the second round due to inclement weather and the schools will resume round two tomorrow and complete the final round if time permits.

The Boilermakers sit at +34 after firing an opening round 303 and an incomplete +15 in the second round. Purdue golfers were spread out between holes three and nine when play was halted, after starting the second round on holes 13, 14, and 15.

Senior Pariya Junhasavasdikul (T12) leads the Boilermakers at +5 for the tournament. He posted an opening round 74 and is +2 thus far in the second round.

Freshman Vince Nadeau (T28) and sophomore Tom Oliver (T28) sit at +9 heading into tomorrow's play. Nadeau carded a 76 in the first round, but is only +4 in the second. Oliver fired a 74 to start things off, but he was at +6 for the second round was play was stopped.

Senior Peter Richardson (T41) is at +11 after today's play, but was only +3 in the second round after posting a 79 in the morning. Sophomore Michael Randle (T65) sits at +15 going into tomorrow, with an 80 in the first round but is just +6 in the second.

No. 20 Louisville leads the event at +16 after carding a 292 team score in the morning. Michigan State is in second place at +19 with a 295 to start the event. The Spartans also field the individual leader, Matt Harmon, who is E after firing a 71 in the first round and he continued level play throughout the second.
