Purdue Finishes UCF Challenge In Sixth

ORLANDO, Fla. - The 12th-ranked Purdue women's golf team moved into sixth place in the final day of action at the UCF Challenge with a third-round 303, its best round of the tournament. Four of the top six teams in the country were part of the 13-team field at the event, as No. 3 Duke claimed a 26-stroke victory at the inaugural tournament held at the Villas of Grand Cypress.

The Blue Devils posted the top score (287, -1) for the third-straight round. Duke sophomore Amanda Blumenherst led the way for the two-time defending national champions as she earned medalist honors with a three-round total of 205 (-11). Duke finished with a three-round score of 860 (-4). Purdue finished with a 920 after three rounds.

No. 2 Georgia took second place after the Bulldogs totaled a 291 (+3) on the final day to finish at 886 (+22). No. 3 Pepperdine and No. 6 Vanderbilt tied for third with scores of 898 (+34), respectively. No. 15 Florida (907, +43) rounded out the top five.

Purdue senior Myrte Eikenaar turned in the top score of the day among the team players for the Boilermakers, carding an even-par 72 to finish tied for 12th. Next for the Boilermakers was newcomer Stefanie Endstrasser with a three-round 226 (+10) which placed her tied for 20th. Sophomore Christel Boeljon, the reigning Big Ten Golfer of the Week, shot a final round 73 to finish tied for 41st along with teammate sophomore Maria Hernandez. Both golfers finished with a three-round score of 235.
